Which winter forecast is correct?

Winter forecasts are like noses — everyone has one.

Both private and public companies and organizations issue their own winter forecast and what they think the months of December, January, and February will hold.

One thing nearly all the forecasts seem to have in common is El Niño’s influence.

This year’s El Niño is set to be one of the top three strongest on record. It’s likely to be up there 1997-98 and 1982-83.

Those years brought rainy, cool conditions to the southern United States and warmer, dry conditions in the North.

Most of this year’s forecasts seem to be going with that same trend.

We’ll just have to wait until March to see if these prognostications hold true.
